Mourning is a natural part of life, so many feel that Sims mourning their dead adds an element of realism to the game. You might want to play that mourning period out as part of your game. Sometimes, though, it can be a huge bother and get in the players' way. My sim is constantly mourning over her dead friends I know a lot of people were complaining about how sims don't mourn when their friends die, but this is sooo annoying! She's always sad and the sadness lasts for days and she can't get anything done. › The Sims 4 Modding & Custom Content. No Autonomous Mourning Mod. 3KNPen Posts: 2,822 Member. February 2017 edited February 2017 in General Mods Discussion. Does anyone know if Snaitf's mod is still working? It hasn't been updated since 2014 but seems like it was still working as of last year but I would like to know if anyone has had any. Sims 4 Something I've noticed about this game is the lack of true consequence or risk. Fires are very difficult to die in (I installed mods to fix this) and most other deaths, such as electrocution or Cow Plant, take several consecutive actions to kill Sims.
- Hi. I'm unsure if it's working but the MC Command center has a module to stop annoying actions and that's one of the actions it will stop.0

Thank you! I do have Command Center so I will dig through the sections and find that rather then adding yet another mod to the mix. I probably should have checked there first but I tend to get way too overwhelmed when trying to look through and figure out the settings for it that once I got them all set up that I most of the time avoid it unless I need to reinstall it after an update.~ ~ ~ - Hi. MC is working well overall, the biggest thing NOT working right now is the Occult: Use Custom Pregnancy setting. Leave that off until we see version 3.2.0, and things should be fine.
Here's what you're looking for:
Computer > MCCC > MC Tuner > Stop Annoying Actions
That'll take you to a page with several options you can Disable, if you like. I have Exercise (sit-ups/push-ups), Get Drinks, and Mourning disabled here.
Please don't be like that, what I bolded above. It's detailed, but, it isn't HARD, once you get used to it.
Come talk to us in the help thread, if you have questions or comments, or need help with settings or something. We're always up for helping folks get the most out of MC.

https://eg4mccc.tumblr.com/ - edited February 2017Hmmmm I went to that section and I don't have mourning listed. I have Wash Hands, Get Water, Grab Drink, Do Push Ups, Do Sit Ups, Watch Funny Videos, & Default. Was it added in the last update? Because apparently I'm still on 3.0.2 I thought I'd updated to the most recent version but apparently it was on my To Do list but then never actually happened. If there's going to be another update soon I'll just wait on it since I really hate having to redo my settings every time there's an update. I have all my Occult settings set to default so that hasn't effected me. The only weirdness I've noticed is that it's adding Toddlers to clubs which I'm going to guess is because I don't have the post toddler patch installed. It's not game breaking (it's rather amusing to see toddlers getting added to the Good Timers club) so I can hold off until the next update to get caught up.~ ~ ~

I'm a little confused, but let me see if I can help you out, here.
Okay. Gotcha. (Had to read it again, I haven't been awake long.)
You're pretty far behind with MC. I'm surprised it's working, and you aren't getting log errors and/or LastException files, if you're running 3.0.2 with the last EA patches. You missed 3.0.3, I think 4 (or 5?) 3.0.4x 'interim/hotix' versions, AND 3.1.0. We're on 3.1.1 now.
He left 3.0.3 available for people WITHOUT the toddler patch. But 3.1.1 has been up for those of us patched up to date since January 25.
It really would be in your best interest to go ahead and grab it. You'll have a week with it, before he lets us have 3.2.0. ETA this coming weekend, if all goes well.
(There's a pre-release version on Patreon, 3.2.0.5, if anybody is interested enough to check into opting in with that. Just FYI.)
You do NOT have to redo your settings after every MC update. Just don't delete your mc_settings.cfg file.
To update MC, the *only* files you NEED to delete and reinstall are the .package and .ts4script files. Anything else in the folder, .cfg or .bak or .info (etc) files are fine to leave there.
Really, zips are the only thing you should NOT have in there. The rest of it (even the Troubleshooter PDF) will be fine to leave alone, as you butcher the mod's 'guts' files when it updates.

Sims 4 Mourning Mod
- That sucks :( I haven't had anyone in my game die yet (aging off) but I remember how upset my sims in TS2 were when a friend or family member passed away. It's the little things like that that made the sims feel more human.
I would try modthesims, there's a ton of mods for TS4 that improve the gameplay and really should have been done by EA.1 - Same thing happened to me. My founder died at the science lab, and my sims had no idea, like it never happened. 4 strangers die at my dang wedding and it was a boo hoo fest.
- This happened to me today, my founders husband died while his daughter and wife were on the lot, they both took it very hard. Few days later it was my founders turn to go while her daughter was at work and when she came home not a single tear was shed, like she didn't even realize that her mother had died. They were all max friendship too.

- Yes, that would be a really good idea. I hope EA did something about it. I don't know if such a Mod exists, I'm hoping to see someone else here mentioning something.0
- Surely they could have the sim receive a telephone call informing them that a sim relative or friend has died.
I don't understand why this isn't already a feature. Maxis really haven't thought this game through at all. - I´m afraid there is no such mod yet.
I wish EA would fix this.Thank you, EA, for patching toddlers in.
My TS4 mods - It is a little outdated but here it is: http://www.modthesims.info/download.php?t=540468'The more you are like yourself, the less you are like anyone else which makes you unique. The problem with most people is that they spend their lives trying to emulate others and so we have lots of copies but few originals.' - Walt Disney
- I don't think there is a mod to make Sims mourn a death that they have not witnessed. I'm assuming it must be something to do with the game mechanics since modders are so on top of things like this otherwise. The only thing I could suggest is to direct them to mourn at the urn/tombstone as soon as you are able. It may not be exactly how you'd wanted it, but believe me, they will then mourn autonomously for a long period. It will be so much that you may want to put the urn/tombstone in the personal or family inventory or use the no autonomous mourning mod on MTS.
If you don't have the urn/tombstone, it is mostly likely still in the place they died, even if it's a community lot, but it may not have a name if the ghost has been culled. If you don't know where they died, this can't be done. There is also a chance the ghost will be culled unless brought into the family, and then they will function as a living Sim, except for being a ghost, of course.
What I usually do for my own sims is to let the family mourn for a few days. The ghost will return now and again at night during this period. Then I have a 'funeral' and invite all who knew the Sim to hang out and mourn. If the Sim had painted any nice paintings, crafted items, etc, or there are photographs, I try to have those there. At the end of this I send the dear departed to the netherworld unless I want to try to keep the ghost for the family tree or just for sentiment. If so, I usually have the 'funeral' at the chapel in the cemetery I made, and just leave the urn/tombstone on that lot. I try to do my own culling in that save so the ghost isn't culled. (I do have the no culling mod, but think I may have had a Sim or two get culled anyway.) The cemetery lot is a nice lot to which I can return if I want. Then I travel with all the Sims to wherever I want to have the post funeral meal and drinking. - It is a little outdated but here it is: http://www.modthesims.info/download.php?t=540468
Unfortunately, this mod doesn´t fix the problem with off-lot sims. It´s also outdated because EA fixed the death reactions in a similar way with a later patch. They didn´t fix the lack of off-lot-reaction though.Thank you, EA, for patching toddlers in.

In reference the bolded part. As far as I am aware, there will not be an urn/tombstone unless you actually witnessed the passing. In one of my games there have been A LOT of passing of sims, and if that were the case, there would be 100s of urns/tombstones in random spots in the town, and that just isn't the case. - Ah, @Fizzstix, right, thanks for pointing that out. I got confused by when I was playing in rotation, and went back to a lot that already had a tombstone on it from a family I'd played, and it was still there. But, true, it was from a Sim for which that family had witnessed the passing.
